“In this outstanding setting, we leave no stone unturned in our quest to fully preserve the integrity of the fruit, extract the quintessential qualities of the terroir and aim for excellence”
Château Gilbert & Gaillard
Château Gilbert & Gaillard has a firm rooting in the heart of the garrigue-clad countryside, in a Natura 2000 protected area, in the Saint-Chinian appellation area, Languedoc-Roussillon. Its exceptional vineyard sites unfurl across its clay-limestone hills at elevations ranging from 150 to 210 metres above sea level. Its red wines blended from Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre combine freshness, minerality and superior aromatic expression.

The Team
We have chosen to recruit young talented staff with whom we share the same passion for terroir.
Together, they manage the teams of seasonal workers who help us every year in pruning the vines, thinning the clusters, and of course harvesting the grapes entirely by hand.

An Exceptional Vintage
Much has been written about the 2022 vintage which caused great concern. The reason for this was the nerver-ending and particularly hot summer.
Environmental Schemes
Introduction of Bee Hives
Around twenty bee hives have been introduced so that their residents can help promote biodiversity. We produce garrigue, chestnut and rosemary honey.
Environmental Schemes
Conservation Grazing
We have welcomed a flock of female lambs who lead a peaceful life in our vineyards and promote conservation grazing.
Environmental Schemes
Bat Roosts
Bat roosts have also been made to protect their populations and control the number of grapevine moths. Similarly, we leave sufficient hedges and regularly plant trees, shrubs and flowers to reduce plant protection pressure in the vineyards.
